Question:
HI I'VE HAD A CONSTANT FEVER FOR 3 DAYS NOW. NO OTHER SYMPTOMS!

Hi I had surgery on 2/19/09. I've had a constant fever for 3 days now with no other symptoms besides aches when the fever goes up. No runny nose, sore throat or anything! The fever was 103.3 at it's highest and goes down to about 99 when i take tylenol, but comes right back after it wears off. It's the weekend to no docs in office and my surgeon is out of state. What should I do? Could I have an infection? Please any nurses out there or anyone who know what's going on?    — alojah82 (posted on May 2, 2009)

Brandi, With the Swine Flu going around, I wouldn't hesistate to go to the walk-in or ER to get checked out. You can never be too careful. Hope it turns out to be nothing! Good luck. Marcia

hey thanks for your help....went to the doctor and luckily just a viral infection....so even though this totally sucks i guess it's the best news i can get. thanks again

Hi, A fever that high is not a good thing. You need to go and seek medical care either with your PCP or an urgent walk in center. They should do blood work. You have no symptoms of the Swine flu but you could have an infection. Good luck, Ana Villa, RN
