Question:
Gaining Weight after 2 years

I have posted here before, but has anyone after a few years gained 25lbs or more? And if you did, how did you get it off? I am fixing to go to Australia August 31st. and I want to lose as much as possible. I have been walking for an hour for five days, changed my diet completely, getting protein in, and liquids and have not lost a single pound as of yet. I had my nutrtionist tell me I could lose 10 or 15 lbs in a months time , that it should not take as long as "normal" people. I NEED HELP!!    — Angelfirewithwings (posted on August 5, 2007)

I usually stay at 160 . i hope you get some good replies . i never do any working out , but some sit-ups . and chasiong 7 kids . But i do know when i change my diet up and eat alot of protein and drink alot of water i lose inches right away maybe not so many pounds at once , but i can feel it in my clothes and see it . i wish ya luck sounds like you are doing everything you need to hang in there maybe the thickness is fading .. instead of pounds .

Hi Nora. Many have your plight, and I just suggest that you work on getting the heart rate up. Walk twice a day instead of once, guzzle water by the half gallon and eat mostly protein, stay away from all caffine and soda. I know it will be hard, but you can beat those pounds off, but you may have to beat the pavement to do it. Take care. Patricia P.

It's pretty predictable. If you go here: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Graduate-OSSG you'll see that topic is discussed regularly. I'm 13 yrs, have had 3 regains, all from sugar (#2 being fruit), and this last one was horrible to get off! It took much more than just "stopping all sugar" to get it off, but I did. I look at all sugar sources with even greater fear than I had before.

you may not lose pounds but inches. I have gained 25 pounds over 14 years, I have lost 6 pounds so far by getting back to the basics just like you and it has taken a month or more. I don't care how long it takes as long as it is going in the right direction and I stay healthy. NO sugar get protien first then vegs and a little fruit at each meal. weater water water, no pops and as little caffiene as possible and as little artifical sweetner as possible.
