Question:
After open rny can you still feel it

i am 2 days pre op and soooo glad to have found this forum. my doctor makes a horizontal incision, and i was wondering if you can still feel the same sensations as now. currently i must say i do a good job, when i put my stick down. but i'm a little concerned about the possible lack of physical feeing.    — [Anonymous] (posted on May 22, 2001)

Hi, I'm not sure I totally understand your question, but I will answer to my understanding. I've had 2 WLS (VBG and RNY), both were open and I have not lost any sensations (ANYWHERE). Other than a light pink scar, I wouldn't know I've had WLS. The actual scar feels a little different when I rub it but I can still feel it. Hope this helps!
