Question:
I called and my insurance company says they exclude this blchoicega
I called and they said that any procedures concerning weight loss is excluded. I see where several people have blue choice ga, and got approved. My plan is under state health, as I am a teacher. I have not started the process to be approved, so do I go ahead and try to get this approved anyway? I need somebody to hold my hand and give me some lead! I'm lost. Thanks! Marla, Maybe you should try and contact some of the people who got covered
under the same plan. There are so many different insurance plans that its
hard to tell what one would do. For example BCBS has tons of different
plans, two companies could have the same plan like BCBS PPO but yet the
benefits be different. It depends alot on what the employer has picked to
cover also, if the employer is self-funded. I wish it was so easy and that
they all would cover regardless but I am in the same boat as you. You may
want to ask if its a medical necessity would it be covered. Some policies
do cover if it is. Also tell them its for morbid obesity. See if that
helps. Do not say its for weight loss and if you have co-morbidities that
may help. Submit anyway. Good Luck. Sharon
