Question:
'Multidisciplinary Day'
I am scheduled for my 'multidisciplinary day' on the 22nd of June. I'm wondering for those who KNOW what this is & have gone through this mandatory process before surgery if anyone can tell me what was it was like & how soon after that you had your surgery for. In case you are wondering what 'multidisciplinary day' is; it's when one has to go for chest & UGI x-ray, lab & EKG, meet with the dietitian & exercise specialists & with the surgeon. Here in my area in Upper MI its called 'multidisciplinary day'. Any help is greatly appreciated! — SPIRIT2002 (posted on June 16, 2009)

WOW! All in one day? I was given a HUGE check list and had 6 mos to get
all my tests/labs/procedures and 4 nutrition classes(3.5 hours class time)
in. I was given a surgery date of 6 mos later and had to have some tests
done 1 and 2 weeks prior to surgery and no later and the rest
scheduled, completed and approved by the surgeons office by the 6
months...So if you are doing it all in one day....wow! Good for you!

It took me about a half a day to have all of that done and I had my surgery
within a month after that.
