Question:
I have Corporate Systems Administration insurance does anyone have this insurance??

My husband has Corporate Systems insurance through his employer, and I am wanting to find out if they will cover Gastric Bypass Surgery?? I am really wanting to have the surgery, but I called them and the girl automatically said NO! then she said unless it is medically necessary!!    — MISSYNEE69 (posted on April 4, 2007)

Your best bet is to schedule a consultation with a surgeon that will contact your insurance company and make your case. He will tell them that it's medically necessary.

I agree with the above poster. Schedule a consult with a surgeon and have them help you make sence of it. If you can prove that it is medically necessary then they should cover it. I am sure there are a few hoops to go through but the surgeons office will help you figure out what exactally they are. Most insurance cos require a BMI of atleast 35-40 w/ one co morbidity or 40 w/ no cormobidity, medically supervied weight loss.. but the surgeons office will help you get that info......... good Luck Michele

Talk to your primary doctor! Should have info as to what you need to know and if insurance issues! Your Dr will tell you the requirements to do surgery. I learned that there is a lot of info on the net. Look up your insurance. I've never heard of your insurance. A lot of prep to do before, during, and after.Surgery is the tool, the hard work! and Joy come after. Good Luck! With your goal to have surgery!

go to the library and check out this book... it has all of the explanations about the insurance companies coverages and their language that they use. "Doctor's Guide to Weight Loss Surgery" by Louis Flancbaum, MD - chapter 16 "paying for the surgery" very enlightening. The book to buy is relatively inexpensive and can be purchased on line as well for $13.95 (ISBN # 0-553-38246-2) good luck to you....
