Question:
Anyone have a lapband after having an open RNY?

I had an RNY in 2001 and have gained back 50 pounds. I am thinking of having a lap band as I am 58 yrs. and am afraid of a total reivision due to statistics. I am desperate and feel like #%$^. Has anyone done this? PLEASE HELP ME. DoJa    — DoJa (posted on November 27, 2006)

I had the lapband put on my rny. If I could go back and redo I wouldnt have - I would research the DS . As far as what you posted you need to determine HOW you gained the 50. If your grazing the lapband will do nothing for you..you can graze thru that too. The lapband can work fine - but it does NEED it doesnt work on its own. THat said - it can be done. but personally look into the sleeve part of the DS first.
