Question:
My sister will be with me the day of my surgery. She is not totally familiar with WLS

I'm hoping for any advice for my sister on the day of my surgery. She will be my 'health care proxy', and will handle any complications if they arise. I'm in overall excellent health, all tests came back very good. No cardiac, no pulmonary or other problems. Advice welcomed!!    — PEG L. (posted on September 13, 2001)

Hi Peg. I gave my mother a copy of Barb Thompson's book to read while she was in the waiting room. She said it helped her a lot to understand why I would have surgery, what I would be going through and what she could do to help. You can get the book at wlscenter.com. Good luck on your surgery.
