Bobbi: Here's what helped me. Read the questions and answers in the Library
on this site. Especially check-out the pre-op questions. Next, run a search
using the keywords hospital, preparations, or anything else you have
concerns about. I honestly can't think of any questions I had that were not
answered on this site. Next, check out e-groups at www.egroups.com. Search
for OSSG (Obesity Surgery Support Group). There are many OSSGs. I found a
great one and have made many on-line and off-line friends who are going
through this surgery. The group has been a god-send! Good luck!!! And keep
reading AMOS!!

All you really need is lip gloss, hair brush, tooth brush & toothpaste.
Your needs are very basic. Too stoned to read or put your face together,
too sleepy to do much more than just nod off and hug your pillow. But you
are VERY dry for the first 24-48 hours, so you'll be reaching for something
for your lips as soon as you wake up! Congrats on getting a date!

Congratulations on your date! If you work, I would suggest completing you
disability paperwork now and get it out of the way. I agree with the
others, everything you need to know is here on this web-site. See
"last 300 questions" section.

Michelle Curran and Al M. are right. You will do A LOT of sleeping, and,
besides, if you do get there and find that there's something you need,
chances are the hospital will have it there anyway. And, like everyone
else has written, any other answers are in the Library. I went through and
printed out a bunch of questions that I thought pertained to me and put
them all in a giant binder and read through them in my spare time. This
was really helpful in calming my nerves and it also really let me know what
to expect. Congratulations, and Good Luck!!!

I was approved and decided to do it asap. My date is Jan 29. Am I scared,
YES, I also don't know what to expect post-op or even pre-op. My pre-op
date is tuesday the 23rd. If I can I'll let you know what I went through
since mine is a week before yours.
