Question:
has anyone got approved varies times but one mistake delays the surgery?

has anyone have problem in waiting for surgery because of mistakes the insurance makes (healthnet)got approved to wrong surgery and doctor and hospital,then the right doctor wrong hospital and two more wrong approvals,add deppression to obesity etc...what can i do?    — 3str3lla (posted on December 18, 2009)

If it were me I would sit down, write a carefully worded letter describing everthing in detail - showing no anger in the letter - just the facts etc. and how their behavior is causing problems for you. Send it certified mail to your state insurance board/commission - marked urgent. Send a certified copy to the insurance company with the letter showing that you cc'd the insurance board etc. That will get someone's attention immediately! AT least in Texas it does. I got a phone call from our insurance board within 7 days! Problem resolved within 10 days....unfortunately it was not WLS related. Looks like healthnet is stalling...I would also write to your congressman with a copy of the letter as well as send a copy to your local newspaper and tv channel...the squeaky wheel gets the grease type thing! Sylvia be patient. Everything happens for a reason. Start trying some of hte sugar free low fat foods you will be eating after surgery, atart your walking program, get your mind of the wait and you will feel better about something you can be in charge of. Take care.
