Question:
WLS - Long Term Post Ops: Using Or "Tools"
Anyone out there have any ideas on the "tools" that are available in order for us to "use our WLS tools" effectively? I'm trying as hard as I can to utilize my tool and do ALL I can to get back on track---even in light of the things that are going on with me medically. At least it won't be said that I was a QUITTER! Your suggestions are appreciated. Oh, and I'm going to try once more to get to the yahoo group for WLS Long Term post ops. PROXIMAL LAP RNY 9/3/02 5'2" 265/177/126-115 (Did you notice the difference in lbs. lost from my last post??!!Yaay!!! Hadiyah, a.k.a.~~ — yourdivaness (posted on November 3, 2005)

Hi I guess the golden rules of wls are: protein first, 64 oz of water per
day, don't drink 30 minutes before and after a meal. Exercise and watch
the sugars and fats.

Hey, Michelle, I've tried to get on the Grad website, but for some reason,
it keeps knocking me out. Is there a certain way (no pun intended) that I
should log/sign on? I REALLY want some help! I'll try and get an
*experienced* person with the yahoo groups to help guide me thru. Thanks
for lovin' me...you get on my case, but I appreciate you--as well as the
others on this site. {{{{{HUGS & SQUEEZES}}} to you all!

I wish you the best of luck...I guess ALl of us fall of the wagon a bit
during this journey. I too am trying to get 'back on track' I know for
myself that if I drink at least 1 protein shake and try to stay away from
sweets, drink for fluids and exercise a bit I start noticing the
difference. It is the willpower that needs adjusting. I too started out at
265 on my day of wls 4may04...my lowest was 138 this summer in August...I
normally sit between 142-145. When the scale creeps up a lb or two I feel
anxiety...lol Have you gained weight back since your original weight drop
or did you not reach your goal in the beginning? I am just curious....and
so scared that as time goes on I will continue to creep up a pound or two.
Take care...You can do anything you put your mind to!!

What did you do different to lose that weight between the last posts? I am
at a standstill right now and I know some of it is due to fibroids in my
uterus, waiting on a hysterectomy, but what did you do, I need to lose
more, I am down 271 to 175 since mar 03, I want to get to 150 but I dont
know why I am having a problem.

Julie, in answer to your questionif I reached my goal?...I might as well
have...I was 6 POUNDS from my target goal weight of 126 lbs!!! It makes me
tearry-eyed just thinking about it. Jane, what I did different was I was
exercizing, but due to the weight gain (which my endocrinologist
calls" abnormal)", I'm back at square one with the pain in my
knees and ankles...I do well by walking... hhehehe
