Question:
how do you guesstimate mens clothes sizes?

hubby had surgery 12/12 and has already lost 30 lbs.(the little bum, i am so jealous:)he wears uniforms and is going back to work in 4 wks. we have no idea what size uniforms to order now for when he goes back to work. any guys out there with suggestions. us ladies have a little easier time i think. i wore dresses alot during the fast loss stage. thanks, patsy and david in las vegas    — PATSY N. If you order thru a catalog, measurements for sizes should be listed. If you have his measurements from before surgery and now, that will show you where he is losing the most. Any chance you could take his uniforms into a tailor and have them cut down for him? Many dry cleaners do alternations and have a quick turnaround. Check with the alternations person at how quickly they could do the uniforms and then take them in at the point you will still get them back before he goes to work. Tell him congratulations on his weight loss.

Men's sizes are easy. If your waist is 48 inches, you wear a size 48 pants. If your neck is 18 inches you wear a size 18 shirt. No guessing, it all goes by your measurements. How do you guess women's sizes would be a better question. What is a size 8? Surely it not 8 inches. I don't how you women tell what size is what.

I am a social worker in a nursing home and I buy clothes for male residents alot. I do run into problems with guys who are obese and carry it in their stomachs. The question is, are they going to wear the pants under the belly or around the belly? I've bought 3x sweat pants before for a fellow, which would fit if he wore them around his belly, but he likes to wear them under his belly, so they are huge.
