Question:
Anyone taking something else for arthritis besides celebrex
My surgery doctor said to swithch to celebrex before surgery. I have gained 10 lbs. and have swelling of ankles and hands and stomach. I told him this happens to me and I think he thought I was using this as an excuse for weight gain. What else can I take that is easy on the stomach. — JUDY E. (posted on February 21, 2001)

I use Arthotex, and have no problems. It takes a few days to build up in
the system but then really relieves the aches and pains. I am 5 weeks post
op with no problems. Good Luck

My surgeon only allows Arthrotec as an anti-inflammatory. It contains
Cytotec, a drug that protects the stomach lining. I was on some very
high-powered anti-inflammatories pre-op, and was skeptical that the
Arthrotec would do as good a job for me, but have been pleasantly surprised
with how well I have felt. Good luck!

I take ARAVA. It is a new medication that alters the course of the disease.
It takes like a couple of weeks to start working but I am pain free.
