Question:
PLEASE HELP ME....

This is probably the most embarrasing thing I have ever done in my life, but here goes. My lab work came back bad, and it is because my protein level is real low. My Dr. ask me and I told him I eat just protein, but I don't have the money now to buy protein to help me get in enough. I have been exspecting a check this whole month to come in, and found out yesterday, that now it is going to be late April or in May. I told my Dr. that I didn't know what to do, and he said for me to ask for help. I have no one to ask, so I have been besides myself as what to do. I am getting sicker everyday, and I am so tired, I can barely move. They say it is because I need protein. So I am asking, can anyone please help me with some protein? Maybe one day, I can pay you back. PLEASE, I dont care what flavor, as long as it is protein. My address is P O BOX 158 Trenton, Ga. 30752 I AM SO SORRY FOR ASKING FOR HELP......    — daizi55 (posted on March 20, 2009)

I think it is very smart of you to have asked for help. I will see what I have in my cupboard. I live in OR so it will take some time to get to you. Some grocery stores sell tasteless protien in the bulk food section that is not expensive. Also protien bars are an option. You might want to check there. It can be added to pretty much anything, soup, cottage cheese, oatmaeal etc. Get that protien in or your hair will fall out.

Debi, you should never apologize for asking for help. We all need it from time to time! And besides, you're asking for protein, not money! I'm sure there are A LOT of people here who have protein mixes, bars, etc. sitting in their cupboards that they are never going to use because they don't like it ... There's no reason they couldn't pass it along to you. Please don't be embarrassed to ask for help - it's better than suffering and getting sicker!

I have several protein items that I would be willing to share with you. We're all here to help one another and most everyone can give a little. It all adds up, so don't think what little bit you can send won't matter.

Debi, I was told that I need 100 - 120 Grams of Protein a day. My Dr. says that I need protein to burn off fat, and that the week I was on a plateu was when my body was changing shape, like from fat to muscle. I take supplements to get enough protein. I take two tablets of Ultra 40 three times a day. I haven't lost my hair or suffered from other "low protein" effects or loss of my energy, and I had my surgery last November. Protein drinks have way too many carbs for me, as one drink has my entire daily limit!! My pouch is so small, that I need to eat protein first, then veggies, then carbs (anything white!!) if I am still hungry. I do NOT count calories, nor fat grams. I only count my carbs, 30 Gms a day, and all the veggies (free)I want for fiber. My weight loss is 3 pounds a week, until my short plateu. I am back to losing again, and have not had a fill since February. Basically I can eat all the meat, eggs, cheese and veggies I want. Boiled shrimp has no carbs, Brats have only 1 carb, other meats are very low in carbs, cottage cheese has low carbs, and veggies are free. Don't feel embaressed for sorry for posting. This forum is here for our benefit, and I know these posts have helped me alot. Sam(f) Haddock

Help is on the way from Nebraska as well. We ARE A FAMILY and families help out in time of crisis. You will probably have more protein, in your house real soon, than you will know what to do with. I am sending you some protein bars, Nectar, and Unjury. You do not need to pay me back for anything that I send to you. We are a family and families don't always need to be paid back. It is my good deed for the day for a fellow overeater.
