Question:
HOW DO WE JUMP START WEIGHT LOSS AFTER GAINING

I lost 100 pounds had surgery two years ago. I never got down to where I wanted to but I was ok with the 150 weight after weighing in at 254 and being 5'2". However, being comfortable where I was has now lead to snacking and eating all day lone of course not the right things. I have regained 20 pounds and of course I am not fitting my new wardrobe anymore. I am trying to just drink my protein 3 times a day and a light salad with maybe a piece of meat once aday. My surgeon said I can get by with the protein and vitamins I don't need food at all. Anyone else have any ideas? I went through to much to give in to my mind food cravings, I truly am not hungry. I believe its possible and I near 3 years out am doing it currently:) Today I weighed in at 188. Have lost several pounds fast. See my profile! Take a look at this website.
http://www.caloriesperhour.com/index_burn.html
I am stocking grocery store shelves two nights a week 8 hours each for EXERCISE! A 40 year old female of your height and weight uses 3600 calories in 16 hours of stocking shelves. Since one pound of fat is 3400 calories doing this and earning a few bucks will peel off a pound a week:) Since I am a guy at 5 foot 11 I burn even more calories! Adding exercise will not only help your weight loss but raise your metabolism so you burn more calories even at rest:) EXERCISE is the ONLY way to raise your base metabolism. How bad do you want to loose more? Avoid all sugars, eat right and try it for a few weeks, yeah I live with hunger sometimes, its a mild irritant rather than a ravaging pre op hunger. Good luck its working for me ansd can for you too.

Kathy, I think you know the answer to your question. Your going to have to eat less/eat better foods, and move more. I wouldn't enjoy the getting by with protein drinks and a lite salad, I like to eat too much, but you can plan a good 1000 calories program, 3-4 mini meals a day, concentrating on protein, lo carb and no or very lo sugar, and add some cardio 3-4 days a week and watch the pounds fly off! Being so short, (I can relate at 5'3), even 5 pounds shows in our clothes. I think once you get this weight off, you need to have a plan for the future so that it never gets to be 20 pounds. Heres what I do: I give myself a 3 pound window. AND weigh daily. Over the window and I start cutting out the treats and adding a weekly workout session (from 3 to 4). It doesn't take more than a few days to a week get those few pounds off. So much easier to tackle with a small amount to lose than 20. Also, if you have any trigger foods in the house (those that you snack on allday),get it out of the house. Out of sight is better.
