Question:
How do I post to the Message Board from my surgery page?
When I read the message Board I see entries in blue that say they are from a person's surgery page. Am I right that they are updating their profile and it shows on the Message Board as well? How do I do that? To be honest I don't even know what the surgery page is, all I've done is update my profile so far. Thanks. — Laura K. (posted on March 29, 2003)

Please don't do that. The purpose of your surgery page is not to update on
yourself. It's for others to post to when you are about to have your
surgery to show their support for you. It's also there so your angel can
post to the MB from there to notify the board that you are about to have
surgery and to ask them to support you. And finally, for your angel to
post to the board when you have your surgery and report on how you're
doing. If your angel can do so, they will also print out your page and
bring it to you in the hospital or have it faxed to you or find another way
to get it to you if you can. I know lots of people do that and I'm sure
there's no rule about not doing it, but it's not what the surgery pages
were intended for.

If you want to have what you've put on your profile also appear on the
message board, just type it out and then copy and paste it from one place
to the other. If you look at them closely, there are posts from one person
that says 'from the surgery page of' and it's a different name. Those
posts will be saying that the person whose name is in the 'from the surgery
page of' is about to have surgery or has just had surgery and the person
posting is letting the rest of us know how they're doing.

There may or may not be a rule against posting about yourself on the
surgery pages but the moderators have repeatedly been on here asking people
to please not do it.
