Question:
Will blue cross/blue sheild cover pannis/tummy tucks if the insurance is self-funded?
DH, just got a job in Lanett, Alabama, and he says its self-funded, blue-cross/blue sheild, I have a hernia but my surgeon didn't fix it, I've heard that's one of the ways to get a tummy tuck, also, when I move there, when and if I get rashes down there, I intend to have them documented for purposes later of approving the tummy tuck, but I am so worried about this self-funded issue? — Dina M. My insurance is self funded and as long as your doctor submits a letter of
medical necesity for the tummy tuck - DEFINATELY mention the hernia repair
- AND SUBMIT PICTURES to show how bad the hanging skin is, you shouldn't
have a lot of problems. Once thy got the letter, they originally denied
it, until they got the pictures and they approved it the same day as
receiving the pictures. I'm now 5 days post tummy tuck.
