Question:
can not lose a pound
I had my surgery June 5, 2007 did great until the end of august. I lost only 3 lbs between august and september. Now it is Oct. 18 and I have not lost "1" lb. . What is happening to me. I need some help here. I seem to be able to eat like my old ways, well not as much, but close. — Donna30533 (posted on October 18, 2007)

We were told that we have been given a "tool" to use by having
this surgery. use your "tool" by following the diet instructions
of your dr and staff. It will bring you success.
If after following the rules you dont lose weight within a normal period of
time you should call dr and get further instructions.

I agree with the previous post, this surgery is a "tool", we have
to go by the guidelines in order for it to work. If you are close to
eating like you used to, then perhaps you aren't using your
"tool" wisely. I know it must be hard, my surgery is
"halloween" so I'm not there yet, but close. I'd say that if
things don't improve once you go back to your post op diet, to give your
doctor a call. Don't wait too long because we never know what it could be.
My doctor instructs us to call no matter how minute we think the problem
may be. Good luck.

you have a lap band. is it time for a fill? talk to a nutritionist too. use
your surgeon and nutritionist as a support group. That was a mistake I made
at first. I thought I could do it all on my own. When I started using the
other "tools" support people I mean, I was able to start loosing
again. I have rny, but I am familiar with the band. good luck.

I'm in the same boat. I got banded on June 18th and haven't lost anything
for about a month. I know I need to eat less and stay away from the snacks,
and I could sure use some more exercise! But, that being said, I was hoping
the band would help prevent me from physically being able to eat too much.
I'm booked for my 3rd fill next week and I'm going to tell my Dr. to be
agressive with the fill. I wish us both success!!

I had my surgery on June 18th. I lost a lot of weight very fast (51lbs in
4 mos) and now it's slowed down to almost a standstill. I pretty much eat
the same and exercie the same but I think my body is just adjusting to such
rapid weight loss?

I agree that this is a tool to use, however, we have to mostly follow the
formula from the Dr. I get stuck too. I can walk, stretch, lift weights,
us the stretch bands all day and watch what i eat, but still get stuck for
weeks at a time. Don't give up, keep going, it will be worth it. I am
losing my weight slowly but i think it is due to diabetes. Everything goes
slow through my digestive tract. You can do all things through Christ
Jesus who strengthens you. Just remember that. He is there to help you.
