Question:
I had the gastric sleeve April 30th,2009 not losing anymore.
I was 289 lbs. the day of the surgery and as of today I weigh 240 lbs. I can't walk like I should because I have real bad knees. What do I do to lose more weight? I want to get to 160 lbs. Please give me advice. Oh and my surgeon that did my surgery is no longer practicing the new surgeon said NO to doing the duodenal switch so I feel I am screwed. — joy2others2 (posted on September 14, 2011)

Sorry I don't have any suggestions about the type of surgery you had or
about any type of revisions, other than my doctor does lots of revisions,
so maybe ask a different doctor? As far as the weight loss, what are you
eating? Dump any carbs and stick with protein...until you reach the desired
weight

If you aren't able to exercise a lot then the best way to lose is going to
be to evaluate your diet. What does a typical day look like. Fat,
Calories, Carbs, Protein and portion size? It might help to write
everything down. I know when I hit a plateau I subsituted one meal each
day for a protein shake and was able to start losing again.

Sorry you are having a difficult time. You might want to try water
aerobics for exercise. Before my surgery, and right after, I did water
aerobics, walking and jogging in the water. It takes the pressure off of
your knees and is a great way to get your heart rate up! Hope that helps.
