I don't have that much money to spare either. I brought the beneprotein powder and I have been adding that to my home made broths, tea, coffee, oatmeal, whatever I eat. My nutrionist said it was a good product and I can't complain. It doesn't taste like anything and it doesn't thicken what you add it to. I brought it on the Obestity Help store. Check it out.

You might try protein capsules. I use them. You can get them at www.nashuanutrition.com They're called Capsul-Pro. Comes out to about a dollar a day. No taste issues or bloating either. They work for me...

If you are gaining, there is a probablity that it is because of your eating habits. Take the time and money to invest in your health! Blenders are not that expensive -- you might even be able to find one at a yard or moving sale or even a thrift shop (by all means, make sure you clean it first!). There are many sources for protien powders. Replace whatever you are eating for breakfast with a shake --- start with just the one. Or in place of a snack. But keep in mind that it IS expensive to stay healthy --- and YOU ARE WORTH IT! With love, Dani

Try going to Good Will to find a blender. It is only for 5 days. They also have soup receipes on the website which were not expensive to make. Good luck to you!

Hi Irma, thanks for writing. First the blender issue, try a Goodwill or thrift shop. Many times you can get cheap things there. Next, grab a cook book. Anyone can cook, it doesn't have to be fancy, but anyone can do it. Liquid and powder protein is expensive, so you might not want to go that route, but tuna salad, chicken salad, I used to munch on beef jerkey, and the single serving soups can have good protein sources in them. Cottage cheese, pinto beans from taco bell, I buy shrimp from my local market, and I eat about 2 pounds of shrimp per week. It sounds expensive, but not nearly as bad as eating out regular, so it is worth the cost. I am not sure about a 5 day pouch test, can't help you there, but you can invest in your health with a cheap blender (even the stores will sometimes sell them for about $25. Maybe you need to save for that, but you can, or find one for $5 at Goodwill or thrift shops. I have a little $25 food processor that is worth it weight in gold as far as making foods small and easy to digest. I use it so much, it broke, and they sent me a new one! Take care Irma, hope you work it out. Patricia P.

The 5dpt is expensive if you buy the pricey foods. I use the walmart brand itemns and they run lower cost to some of the regular ones. I also add water and not milk to the cream of chicken soup. I use the sugar-free cool aides that walmart has for $1.88. There are 6 tubs that make a gallon at a time. I use bouillion cubes dissolved in hot water. Decafe coffee..the off name brands do me fine for a large jar of istant. Add the fat-free half and half or any low calorie creamer of choice. I use the boxed sugar-free jello you make yourself in all flavors. I make them and then sometimes just drink the mixture or I gel it and have enough for 2 days. I buy the store brand tuna for lots less priced. Vienna sausages are great to eat. Some of the recipes I have tried and they are good, but I just use what I can afford to buy and exercise and walk. I lost 7 lbs that first week. I do the all liquids every monday and tuesday and to keep myself on track. I am 4 yrs and 1 mo post-op. Gained 16 lbs in a year. I have never gotten to my desired goal of 180 or 190 and this is helping me stay on track and do what I am suppose to be doing.
