Question:
Irritable Bowl Problems?
Has anyone that's been banded suffer from irritable bowl. My former internist said that I seem to have most of the symptoms of the condition, although I was never tested for it. Will this affect how the gastro MD or the surgeon make their determination as to who is or is not eligible for the Lap Band ? Any information will be greatly appreciated. I do not know what the answer is to your question but something that you
really need to do is be open and honest with your surgeon so you do not set
yourself up for other health issues PO. I have a mild form of colitis
called microscopic colitis (MC) and was told by one doctor that he would
not do my RNY. I waited to get the disease under control and found a new
doctor, who knew about my MC and he felt that my disease would not cause me
to have PO health issues and here I am 3+ years later, healthy as a horse.

Hi. i don't know if this helps but i read that the VSG is used for people
with other health concerns and it seems to be an excellent alternative to
the Band.

I have that problem. I have had hemmorhoid surgery back in April 2006 and
getting ready to have it done again. I have had these problems way before
my gastric bypass. My old family physician never thought it was serious
enough until it was too serious. My only advice to you DEAR is get it
checked out by a Surgeon who specializes in that type of surgery.
