Question:
cried all day
I have waited for two years to get approval from my insurance. I have switched jobs for insurance purposes and today I got the call. I am approved and I have not stopped crying. It goes from a good cry to a scared cry to a worry cry. Is this normal? I have been nothing but excited and frustrated during this two year journey, never crying out of fear or worry! — JoyFines (posted on December 2, 2005)

I felt all those emotions.
I want to say, congrats,:)
Again, every emotion u have gone thru is so very normal, so celebrate those
feelings, for they are there to get you thru your journey ahead.

Normal.........I too went through the same thing. I didn't know what to
feel while I waited for the insurance to decide and then going through the
appeal process. I was told by the attorney that if denied at that level
there was nothing else for me to do. I then got the call saying that I was
approved. I was in shock for a few days but then I scheduled the surgery.
I myself was fine until two days before the surgery I couldn't sleep,
worried, cleaned the house from top to bottom trying to wear myself out,
but had no luck. I didn't sleep until I got to the hospital too early and
they put me in my room where I would be recovering. I knew the procedure
and recovery process inside and out, but for me it was the unknown since I
had never had a major surgery.

Congratulations. I've waited two years to get a fulltime job with
benefits. Now I've started my journey and will have to wait 6 more months
before I can even apply --I have Cigna PPO and you have to have 6 months of
physician monitored weight loss. So Congratulations again and cry all you
want to. I want to also add, don't worry about the surgery, I am confident
that all will turn out well. There is a scripture in Hebrew 10 that tells
us not to abandon our confidence -- God is with US.
Peace,

The day I got my call I screamed.. cried.. laughed! The night before
surgery I had the very first panic attack of my life. One month later I
have lost over 30 pounds and life is great. Not one single regret! The
best to you... you are gonna do great!

Hi Joy!
I can't tell you how happy your question makes me! Though I'm sorry it took
so much and so long to get approved.I feel blessed that I didn't have to
fight at all for my approval. I just received my surgery date 3 days ago
and when I got off the phone I cried, just like you did, happy, scared,
excited, terrified..I haven't had that many turning emotions since the
labor and delivery of my son! I asked the same questions you did. I guess
it must be normal if there are so many of us who have felt it. It's a
life-changing experience,so I guess our feelings should be alittle back and
forth! Best of Luck and Take Care!

Congratulations! I totally know how you feel. After fighting for so long
& thinking I would never be approved I went through all of the emotions
from being shocked, to excited and scared all at the same time. In fact I
called my bariatric coordinator to advise her that my primary ins. had
denied me when she told me she had just received word from my secondary
that I was approved! Best of luck to you.

It is normal to be scared and nervous before major surgery. Good luck!
