Question:
Has anyone had blood pressure come back
I am 2 years 1 month post op RNY and have been off meds for 2 years now. Recently my blood pressure rose so high that I had to go to ER and am now back on meds. I am thankful to get under control just so confused after I lost about 130 lbs why now is it coming back? Also my blood sugar is at 100 where before it was in the 70's and 80's — bikermama (posted on May 23, 2010)

I'm just coming up on being 7 months post op. My bp was in the normal range
my 1st 2 wks after surgery, but then went back high and my PCP put me back
on a higher dose of meds. Now it appears to be coming back down after
losing about 90 lbs. I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you, but I'm very
interested in what the responses on this will be. Please keep us posted and
good luck to you. I hope things get better soon.

I will be a year out from VSG in june. I haven't ever gotten to completely
stop taking my blood pressure meds. I have gotten to stop taking my
diabetes meds and have gone from 2 blood pressure pills per day down to
only 1/2 of a pill per day. And I have lost right at 150lbs since surgery.
However, I still need this little bit of blood pressure meds.. per my dr.
High blood pressure runs on both sides of my family. I am greatful to get
rid of nearly all my meds tho. I guess it just depends on the person and
the case of high blood pressure. It is not always weight related =) weight
just dosen't help the situation and can make it worse.

I came off all meds accept the BP, Arthritis, and OCD meds. My doctor said
that my BP is related to stress and the RA meds is a factor as well. Stress
from family, finances, and worrying about what RA does to my life. My type
2 diabetes is the only thing I came completely off meds for.
