Question:
Lap Band weight gain 5 years after surgery?
Hi... I had surgery in 2003. I lost 121 pounds initially. I had some issues with my pouch, stretching and dilation. I went through periods of fills and unfills.... now I have currently gained back 76 of the 121 that I lost. Am I screwed forever? How do I get back to the post op (begininng) weight loss? — allib1002 (posted on July 31, 2009)

I don't mean to sound rude or anything, but I thought that Lap Banders do
not usually gain their weight back. I had RNY and after the 3rd yr. started
to gain weight back. It is part due to wrong eating habits picked back up
after placed back heavily on RA meds. Prednisone and an apetite that won't
quit. My surgeon told me that most of his patients who have had problems
gaining weight back has been those who take meds for severe arthritis. I am
struggling to lose and keep off 8-10 lbs each month and I always thought
that Lapbanders did not gain back their weight or as much as the RNYer's
