I agree with the other posters, I do not think it is a good idea, the 1st
24 hours are the critical hours if any complications arise, you need expert
staff there.
I can only speak for myself, but the 1st day out of surgery the morphine
pump was my new best friend, and would of been miserable without it.
My Doctor only charged 5,000 dollars, and I was in the hospital 4 days, so
$6,000.00 and a hotel room you have to pay for out of your pocket does not
seem like a good deal to me.
I am not sure if you are self pay or not, but please think hard about what
is best for YOU!!!!

Sounds like a BAD idea, in case of a complication you could die before
medical care got to you.

Hi Sherri,
I have to agree with the other posters, this is not the best idea in the
world. This surgery is MAJOR, even in the hosptial, people die and have
severe complications. If you were not in the hosptial, then you could have
a complication that no one even knew about until it was too late. That
would be so tragic!! I would hate to lose a member of the AMOS family
becasue they were discharged too early. If you are self pay, and trying to
find the best way for you, I would suggest you talk to the docs in your
area. Then you can look into getting one of the medical loans that are out
there. Just please, even if it means waiting until you can save some money,
do this surgery the safest way possible.

Don't do it!!!!! Please!! You HAVE to be watched closely after this
surgery. I am an RN and I am stunned that a surgeon would even consider
letting you leave the hospital right away. Your life is worth far more
than the money you would save. Think about it. God bless you

Your better off to get a job with home depot or other company that covers
WLS in their health insurance for part timers. <P> There are lots f
ways to save money but this one isnt a good idea.
