Question:
What could this feeling be?
I am 5 months post op from DS surgery. When I'm standing I somtimes get mild pain near my scar. When I place my hand on it on it I feel a small bulge. Somtimes it doesn't hurt it just feels like a bubble and when I press it it guggles. Has anyone else experienced this? When I lay down I don't feel it. — purd2590 (posted on March 18, 2010)

Definatly sounds like an incisional hernia.... please don't let this go.
Ask your doctor about it soon. I let mine go for years and just had it
repaired in February and it took four hours to repair and it had gotten so
large they had to remove a 5 inch section of my bowel and put them back
together. It had even attached itself to my hipbone. Please please have it
looked at!! =)

It definitely sounds like a hernia. You should avoid all strenuous
activity and call your doctor first thing on Monday. If there is anything
protruding, you should call now and/or go to the ER.
What you are actually sensing is the pressure that is most likely pressing
against your abdominal wall when you stand up. When you lay down, gravity
is working in your favor, thus relieving the stress. Resist the urge to
press on it, feel around, or let anyone else that is untrained "play
doctor".
I have one too, so I know how serious they can be and I also know that the
more you touch them, the more that they hurt! :)
