Most likely you are following doctor's orders and measuring out your
food...at this point you should be having 2-4 oz. of soft foods. My nut.
says that we stay on soft foods for pretty much the rest of the year.

I also have the same feelings and worries. I don't ever feel like I am full
but when I do eat It actually hurts like there is a lump and it is painful.

Stop to think. Could your head be "tricking" you into thinking
that you have never felt full? Remember we will forever be fighting head
hunger for the rest of our lives. Also remember this is a TOOL only, YOU
have to implement good eating habits and exercise and discipline to keep
the weight off forever! Good luck and God Bless!

I too am 4 1/2 weeks out and have yet to feel full. My issue is that I
have not even felt hungry this whole time, Im just eating because I know I
have to this Tuesday I finally starting soft foods for 1 week then on 7/3 I
start regular foods. Iam so worried that I will screw up, I thought I would
feel something or throwup~~ I am eating the portions that I should and I
stop, again because Iam not hungry but it scares me that i have no
sensation/feelings of fullness or anything. I will ask my doc at my next
appt. My husband though had a good point, basically at this point
everything that we eat is liquid or pureed and very soft so it passes
pretty quick. Once able to eat normal food of normal consistency then we
will probably have that sensation!! 4 weeks out and 37lbs gone!!

Great job on the weight loss Tiffany. I don't know if it's hunger I feel
or if it is just things healing inside. I am being careful to only eat my
2 tbs per meal...this is my 6 day post op. I am down 10.3 since
surgery....it is wierd though to think of the volumes of food I was eating
and now with the tiny morsels, I feel like it should be sliding off....but
not so far>

hi kathy...i'm 6 weeks out too and i'll tell you some days i can eat a few
small quanity meals and other days i have to force myself to eat...also it
might help to get more protein in...on my "hungry" days i just
grab my protein shake instead of food...works like a charm!

Hi Kathy, thanks for writing. Breathe girl, take a big breath! Anxiety
will take you places you don't want to go. Remember that you don't need to
be full, but to NOT be hungry. And you are not hungry. Feeling full is
part of why some of us got so obese, we depending on that fullness to stop
eating, and when we don't feel full we eat some more. Don't judge your
eating that way, judge it on the amount of protein you need each day and
how to get it in, and then step back and ask yourself, am I hungry? I
think if you ignore the "head hunger", you will find that your
body is not hungry at all. It is time to look at food and hunger in a good
and correct way, waiting for the fill line to hit, is not always it for
everyone. Try this new way for a while and see if it can work for you.
Take care. Patricia P.

None of you have mentioned this so I will....do not drink an hour before or
after eating...remember that? ok, just checking! LOL The water/beverage
will help the food go straight through without filling your pouch so
remember that one ok? It may help you to try it.

Kathy,
Just give yourself a few more weeks to get used to the changes in your
body. Your brain is having to learn how to read the signals your stomach
sends in a whole new way. For me, at around eight weeks I started learning
to recognize the new feelings and signals from my body. I was eating
dinner with my daughter and she looked at me and said, "Mom, are you
trying to force yourself to finish eating that?" It was like a light
came on in my head. I was trying, unconsiously, to eat like before. Now I
can recognize when I've had enough. Just give yourself time to learn about
your new and improved self. You're going to be fine.

Sometimes I do have this feeling but it comes when I don't pay close enough
attention to 'the signs' of being 'satisfied'. I'm 6 1/2 weeks out and had
my 1st fill 2 days ago. The 'sign' I'm referring to is what I received
from supporters on this site. I was also concerned but several people told
me their 'sign' on when they were satisfied and when to stop eating. I was
told about the 'burp' and you know what? It worked. I was told when they
were satisfied they experienced a little burp or little belch. When I take
notice, it's true, you do have a little burp . Once I have my little burp,
I quit eating. I have to stop thinking that I hadn't eaten enough and just
stop. When I do stop, everything is fine. My husband is to the point now
that he asks me if I've had my burp. I just wanted to pass along the great
advice several had given to me that actually worked. Good luck! Lynn

My surgery was the day after yours, and I have exactly the same concern, as
I have yet to feel full, and yet to feel hungry. I'm following dr's
orders, and it scares me. I keep thinking maybe they made my pouch too
big!
