Question:
Protein supplement that is NOT sweet?

I am 22 months out and have lost 135 lbs, but I still haven't reached my goal. I would like to lose another 15-20 lbs. I have quit almost altogether the protein supplements and the reason being, even from the start of this, I don't like sweet drinks! I was wondering if anyone knew of a powder protein soup mix or know of a protein I can add to food like soups? I am a salty food eater, not a sweet eater. Also... does artificial sweetners cause hunger or gas? I really need to get on the loser wagon again. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!    — teedegee (posted on March 15, 2006)

hi Teena, I would definately recommend Any Whey flavorless protein powder found at www.Bariatriceating.com. I use it everyday in my decaf icead lattes. But you can use it in whatever you want. It doesn't have any flavor and each scoop is 70 calories and 17 grams of protein. I would also recommend protein bars like zone perfect or south beach protein bars. I am 8 months post op and down 130 pounds i hope i've helped. jeannie

There is a protein supplement out there called ANY WHEY. It can be mixed into anything and has 17 grams of protein per serving. Good luck!

I have had great luck with Nectar brand protein drinks. I drink the Fuzzy Navel flavor and it's alot like orange juice--just not as sweet. Like you I cannot take the sweet drinks. I think if you try this you will be pleased. Carolyn
