Question:
My doctor wants me on Juice Plus...which is fine...but how do I get it down?
I am two weeks post-op (RNY LAP) and started using Vitamist, but my doctor recommends Juice Plus to stop the premature aging process caused by the rapid weight loss. The pills are capsules with powder in them so I could sprinkle the powder in something...was just wondering if anyone else had done this and had any suggestions...?? — mmcphee1 (posted on January 1, 2006)

When you were sent home we you given pills or liquid pain meds. You should
beable to swallow them. If not you can sprinkle some on yogart, sugar free
apple sauce, maybe put it on a spoon with a teaspoon of crystal light and
try to sip but gulp it down. It might take gross or bitter. I would try to
swallow them. good luck

Mary, my sister-in-law sells Juice Plus. Send her an e-mail and she can
suggest what you can do. E-mail me if you would like her e-mail.

Whatever you do-DO NOT swallow them. Contact the previous lady above for
information. You stomach is still to tender and swollen to handle anything
except fluids and soft foods. You could have an episode of throwing up or
getting the gelatin cap stuck and having unbearable pain until it disolves.

I perosnally have never heard of Juice Plus, but you are two weeks post op.
SO, maybe you can put the powder in some yougurt, in a drink maybe plain
water. Does you doc. want you to take the capsule whole?
Best of luck to you, let us know how it works out.

My doctor recommended juice plus also, with one in the morning and one at
night to begin with and now I am on two of each. At first swallowing scared
me but after taking two gulps of water, the capsule did go down with no
problem. I was never on liquid pain medicine or any other type of medicine
so I did learn quickly to swallow pills and the most effective way to do
it. Hope this works for you.

I have never heard of Juice Plus so I looked it up (www.juiceplus.com).
You can buy it in a chewable form and it says it has the same nutritional
value as the regular capsules.

Mary -
Juice Plus comes in gummy form (for kids, but adults often prefer it). It
is 17 fruits and vegetables slowly dehydrated. It comes in 4 jars (2
fruit, 2 veggies) in the gummy form for about $90. It is not a vitamin
supplement. It was considered to be a food recently by the FDA.

My doctor wants me taking 2 of the Garden Blend (vegetable) and 2 of the
Orchard Blend (fruit). It sounds like a lot, but I have 5 other friends in
the ATL metro area that all have different surgeons...and all the doctors
have recommended this product. Basically if you take this product it gives
you all the daily allowances of the vegetable and fruit groups...cause we
all know it is nearly impossible to get them on our own. In addition, once
I start taking these I will no longer be required to take my
multi-vitamin....other doctors may not agree with that...but that is what
my surgeon said. Since I can't swallow pills at this point I was told I
could sprinkle to capsules over my food...they don't taste like normal
nasty pills....the vegetable one almost tastes like veggies...but the
problem I ran into was that my portions are so small at this point that the
one capsule totally covered my meal...so I'll have to wait a little while.
Apparently they also have chewables and powder mixture, but I have not
tried either.

Hey juice plus is a great vitamin! They have chewables and you can save if
you buy them by the case. Ive used their products. Go to their website! The
products are really good.

Juice Plus is a garbage product and is sold by ruthless lying hucksters. If
anyone recommends the product to you, run the other way!
