Question:
Can you "shrink" your pouch after you've stretched it out?
I desperately need help to get back on track. I try not eating at all, but that doesn't work. I've been able to eat sweets all along since my surgery. I've cut out diet cokes, but the sweets....... I also have alot of horrible abdonminal pain & nausea. Am I in danger of pulling staples loose -- or does that even happen? — melmo68 (posted on October 10, 2009)

I know there is a way to shrink your pouch supposedly, I think by going
back on liquids like in beginning. You didn't say when you had your
surgery, but the sweets may be what is causing the pain and nausea. It's
your body's way of saying I shouldn't eat this. Hope you find the info you
want. I would reccommend contacting your surgeons office and asking them.

The 5 day pouch test has been very effective to not necissarily
"shrinkk" your pouch back but to retrain it to work as the tool
it is. www.5daypouchtest.com will give you all the details and menus for
the 5 days. It also helps cleanse and break you of any bad carb
habits. Some people even do it once a month or so to keep themselves on
track. It's all about going back to the basics. Good luck.

You may want to try the 5 day pouch test-it gets you back to basics and
cleanses you of any bad carb habits you have redeveloped.
www.5daypouchtest.com The web site has all the info and menus for the test
and an online support resource. It doesn't necessarily "shrink"
your pouch back. It enables you to use your pouch as the tool it was
intended to be. Good luck.

You really need to see your surgeon about the pain and nausea. That's not
normal whether your pouch is stretched or not. And yes, although difficult
to do, you can have a separation of the staple line. Or you could have an
ulcer. Irregardless the pain and nausea is a symptom of something else.
Please see a doctor.

You don't say how far out you are. But remember the sugar will make you
crave more food, even if you are full! Carbs do the same thing because
they change to sugar as soon as they enter your bloodstream.

I don't know about shrinking it back, but I always say go back to basics,
when I'm having abdonminal pain or nausea I really watch want I have eaten,
also the sweets I know if I buy something that say sugarfree I get it and
it will make me have nausea, so I leave it alone. I have problem with
eating peanuts when I do they gas me up and I feel sick. so just watch
want your body is telling you. Be Blessed!
