Question:
Does anyone know if the www.millergoodmanfoundation.org is still in business?

I can only get $4900.00 loan. I still desperately need $5000.00. So I can self pay for my surgery. Anyone know of anyone else or a special group I can contact to get money? Any grants available? Please help I'm at a loss at to what to do next! Thanks Sherian Miller Colorado Springs CO    — sherian82 (posted on October 31, 2008)

My guess is that you don't have insurance. You also failed to mention how much you have to lose and if you have any co-morbidities. You might want to apply for disabilty and then medicare will cover for 80 % of the cost. In some states, Familly Services might have some kind of vocational rehab program that could help out with the cost. Some people have also gone thru the VA if they have benefits thru them. I know these are hard times and I don't know your financial situation but, you might want to considerhaving a fund raiser to help you come up with the money you need. Also, open up a savings account and ask your relatives to contribute. It is investment in your health and your future. Save as much as you can. Good luck !!!

I had a similar problem, but couldn't even get the loan! I went to our State Vocational Rehabilitation Services and (although it took some time) got approved. They are there not to just help you find a job, but to help you keep a job that you are unable to do at this time.

Capital One is pretty easy to get a loan from you might also ask your surgeons office they should know some other companies that do loans for surgeries. I will have to use Capital One when I have my plastics because my insurance won't pay for plastics but I'm going to try anyways just to be sure.
