Question:
post-op~NEW Insurance~United~Harvard Pilgrim OR Tufts?? HELP!
My husband's company just got bought out and our insurance choices are Harvard Pilgrim HMO, United Healthcare PPO or Tufts HMO. We live in MA and I need to choose the one that is most likely to cover panni, breast reduction. Please share your experiences with any of these insurance companies. Much appreciated. Contact the personnel dept of your husband's employer and ask for the 1-800
#'s of each of the Healthcare providers. Then call 800 #, ask what their
policy is on this type of procedure. As an added protection I would ask
that they fax you/mail to you, their policy on that particular procedure
(this way you will have it in writing).
I can give you the # for Tufts in Massachusetts:
HMO 1-800-462-0224
POS/EPO 1-800-843-1008
PPO 1-800-423-8080
Those are the Customer Relations Depts. You need to find out Whether they
are offering HMO,PPO,POS, Ect.
It would help if you had a specific surgeon in mind this way when you call
you check and see if he/she is in your "network of providers"(HMO
MAY COVER PROCEDURE BUT NOT THE DOCTOR YOU WANT). So it is always better to
check. GOOD LUCK!
