Question:
Ferrous Sulfate verves Carbonyl Iron
Became anemic, PCP prescribed Ferrous Sulfate 325mg also having anal issues and can NOT be constipated plus need to add a lot more fiber to my diet I also heard that fiber can deplete your iron?. Has anyone tried Carbonyl Iron? Has it worked in building your iron back up? And if so how much? I starting taking (about a month ago) Sundown Tender Iron (2 @ 50mg each) and would like to bump it up to 6 or 7 with 500mg chewable C — cmoulder (posted on August 27, 2009)

Carbonyl Iron is what I use. I read from some forum on here that it was
the best for RNY patients because it was easier to absorb. I took it for
about 2 months but quit taking it because I use the Bariatric Vitamins for
RNY patients and it has iron in it. I now take it twice a week just to
make sure I am getting enough due to being anemic as well. I bought mine
at Walmart in the vitamin area.
