Has she been all along? Or did it just start recently? How does water taste to her?

The thing I have found that really helps me is Rubbing Alcohol. Take a capful, smell it for a few seconds. Keep doing 2 to 3 times. Immediately your nausea will go away. Kemalani

Have her call her surgeon, there are meds like compazine that fix nausea FAST!

I had severe nausea most of my first 6 months. After spending a couple of days in psych ward because I was getting suicidal from all the sickness, they put me on 2 anti depressents, one of them was liquid paxil. After about 2 weeks the medicine was working and somehow stopped the nausea and I was able to start eating again. I gained back 12 lbs that my doctor said I had lost due to malnutrion and dehydration. I still experience some nausa which when bad enough I keep phenergan around to control but I finaly have control of my life again after almost losing everything. I did not lose any weight at all for the next 3 months and just now started losing some again, sure enough the nausea was back during the weight loss. I have decided now that I believe that is how my body is going to react to the ketosis we go in, maybe that is the same case with your sister. If I can help in any way, please let me know. [email protected] Lots of luck to your sister!

I had the same problem. It helps to eat very little. Also, do not drink anything afer eating until you do not feel so full. I still have to wait about an hour or more after eating to drink anything and I am almost a year and a half out. Also, do not eat within an hour of drinking. I had lots of trouble (and still do) getting all my liquids in. Anyway, I advise her to allow time between eating and drinking.

I use Zofran ODT ("orally disentegrating tablets") as well as phenergan (pill or suppository) for severe chronic nausea. Compazeine is also a drug used for nausea. Your sister, if she hasn't yet, should check in with her surgeon or at least primary care doctor. She may need labwork or imaging studies to make sure that there is nothing structurally wrong. BTW, all 3 meds mentioned in this post are Rx. There are one or two OTC anti-nausea meds but they are basically sugar water or "cola syrup" and not very helpfun in my opinion. Good luck.
