Question:
Has anyone with Pacificare prepared a diet history they accepted?
My PCP referal nurse says I have to pick up a diet sheet from my Dr. Office and be weighed each month for a year before they will refer me to a surgeon. I have documetation of being on diet pills twice and attending the rader institute. But she says that does not count. Does she know what she is talking about? — Tonette W. I have Pacificare and did not have that requirement. The ONLY requirement
that Pacificare has is that it is medically necessary. I purposely chose
Pacificare for that very reason. It was Very easy for me to get approval
from them for my surgery. This sounds like it might be a requirement of
your PCP, and if that is the case I would change PCP's. I was approved one
month after my surgeon sent in the letter. read my profile and feel free to
email me. Open RNY 11-11-02 down 81pds

I would find a different PCP. It sounds like your dr is not a supported of
this surgery. I would check around or ask someone at a support group
meeting who they would recommend as a good PCP.
