Question:
What is the best way to chart your liquid intake?

How can I chart my liquids each day to make sure I get enough protein plus water? I have one 32 oz bottle I will use for water, but what about the protein you have to measure to get in 70 grams? Thank you for the tips, Kristy    — Kristy (posted on November 27, 2005)

Only thing I can suggest would be to use http://www.fitday.com/ There you can put in all that you eat and drink and it will help you keep track of everything from calories, protein, etc Hope this helps.

This is what I do every day. I keep track of my water. As I finish a 16.9 oz bottle of water, I mark it down in my spiral notebook. That is one side of the page corresponding to the date I have. On the other side of the page, every time I eat protein, I calculate it first measure on my little scale how many oz I eat at that sitting and multiple by 7 go get number of grams and I write it down. At the end of the day or throughout the day if you wish, add up the amount of grams you have eated. By the time you go to bed, you will see your total for the day. If you are short a few grams, drink 8 oz of milk, which really equals 9 grams of protein according to the milk carton, or eat 4 oz of cottage cheese which equals 13 or 15 grams of protein, depending on which brand you eat. I have done this every day since my surgery on 4/4 this past year. Keeps me in check. This would be so hard to do if you work a lot during the day. I am working temporary so I keep it in my head and when I get home, I write it down and then figure what I am going to eat for dinner. Karen

Kristy, I measure out six ounces of carb countdown, which gives me twelve g of protein and one scoop of Isopure Dutch Chocolate protein powder, which gives me fifty g of protein. That already gives me sixty g and then I just make sure I eat protein for my other meals.

I fill 4 20oz. bottles of water per day and keep them in my fridge, at the end of the day if I drank all four I know I took in 80oz. that day 3 60oz. etc. Was the easiest for me.
