Question:
How do you get back on the diet after the holidays when your motivation is low?
I made it through the holidays this year - only gaining .7/10 of a pound.......but, now I am having a terrible time getting back on track. Help? Anyone going through the same thing? Do you have any suggestions? I can't get rid of my sweet tooth and am having a hard time getting all my water in. I have been snacking way too much also. I still have 30 lbs I want to loose and I am almost 2 years out. I've lost about 115 so far. Thanks. — JEANNETTE C. (posted on January 16, 2003)

Whenever my motivation starts to get low, I go and get my before photos. I
am about 2 1/2 years out, and it does the trick every time.

Hi there, I am having the EXACT same problem. I am almost 3 months post-op
and was doing fine until about mid-December when all the goodies started
coming out. I am still snacking too much and need the motivation to
"break" the cycle. Good Luck to Both of us! At least I am woman
enough (like yourself) to admit we are needing motivation. LOL Best to
you...Toni

I have the same problem, esp. since I had emergency ulcer surgery right
before Christmas. Now I feel things are all out of whack, I'm snacking too
much and eating cookies and candy, which I didn't do before much. Now I eat
something "bad" everyday! I'm over 7 months post-op and still
have about 15-20 pounds to lose. Surprisingly, I actually lost 19 pounds
in 4 weeks during the holidays. But I know if I keep eating like this,
once I level off, it won't be good! My mom has been helping me, she'll keep
raw veggies out and make 3oz orange juice pops, so I can snack on them
intead of candy or chips. I'm also going to join a gym in a few weeks, so
I know that will help my cravings, or atleast make up for the bad stuff I
eat! LOL Sorry i don't have much help to offer, but you're not alone!
Goodluck.
