Question:
Has ANYONE out there had the lap band procedure ??

I am set to have the Lap-Band done on Sept 11th. I am VERy curious as to your weight loss results. The prospect of a shorter recovery and the fact that this is reversible is very attractive however I dont want to have to go back in a year for an RNY because this isnt showing any results. Hi there, My Dad had the Lap Band on 8/16/01 and on 8/17/01 he had it removed he felt like he was suffocating. Winds up he has extra large insides and the band could not fit him properly. He is fine now, but I have to admit that was a tramatic experience for him...good luck Also on 8/16/01 as well I went in and had the RouxNY proceedure and I am fine...3 weeks post-op and lost 31 lbs already..Just thought that would help you out. One more thing my Dr. which is from NYC does not recommend the Lap for everyone in fact most people he feels the Rouxny is the way to go...Hope this helps a little..Feel free to e-mail with any questions... :-)
