Question:
Has anyone had surgery at ST. JOHNS HOSPITAL in Queens, NY?
I have my second appointment with my doctor on September 14th. After having seen all of the other doctors, it is likely that I will get my surgery date then. Currently my hospital of choice, St. Francis, is booked up to December/January...by September it'll probably be February! The other hospital that my doc performs the procedure it, St. johns is only backed up 4 - 6 weeks. But, I've heard some bad things about St. Johns. Any feedback? — PaulaM (posted on August 8, 2001)

Sounds like you are using the same doctor I am planning to use. Since I am
coming from out of town I do not want to wait for St Francis to be
available so I did a bit of checking on ST. Johns and what I gather is
this. They are Acceptable and will give you quality care and Yes St
Francis is reported to have a 'better bedside manner' and is a bit
friendlier however, you really won't be there that long (I assume you are
doing Laproscopic) so you should be fine.
