I know just how you feel. I am only 1 month postop and have not lost an
ounce in the last 8 days! Everyone has told me to be patient and that I am
probably losing inches even though nothing is showing up on the scale. I
am going to try really hard not to weight myself for at least another
week...I have been getting on that thing five or six times a day lately and
it's very discouraging. Hang in there!

Ask your WLS doctor's office for the name of a nutritionist who counsels
WLS patients - our needs are different. Take your multi-vitamin and mineral
daily (chewable or powder). Don't rely on protein shakes, bars, etc. Do
eat a low-fat, low-carb, high protein diet. One of the biggest factors in
success and maximum weight loss is EXERCISE. Treadmill or walk for half an
hour aerobically, not strolling, at least 5 days a week. Studies show
those who do take it off the quickest and healthiest. When your intake
drops, so does your metabolic rate, so you burn fat even more slowly. If
you exercise 5 days a week, it raises your metabolism and you will lose
weight more quickly, especially if you stick to the diet guidelines above.
It works - try it! Best of luck to you.

I'll send you yet another food plan, if you email me privately. Mine will
be different, as is everyone's. It's very freeing in many ways, slightly
restrictive in others.
