Question:
Sick, sick, sick...First appeal denied, need ammo for second appeal.

I am absolutely sick to my stomach. My insurance has denied my first appeal. And it was a bang-up job I have to admit myself. I must start immediately working on the second appeal and don't know really where to start. In my first appeal, all aspects of my (poor)health were covered and I addressed the out of network benefits question, they don't have a surgeon in network that does the procedure my physician and myself are sure will work for me. When I orginally put in my request WLS was covered, now they are saying after July 1, 2001 they will not cover any obesity surgery......need some encouragement and inspiration here...    — m S. I had the exact same problem! When I called the insurance company and gave them the procedure code, they didn't know what it was. i thought that was funny:) You have the horses a&$ talking with the other horses A@*. Keep your chin up and get ALL information together yourself and pay the postage and TAKE IT directly to the surgeon and have them add whatever they want, and then they can mail it off for you. That's what I did. The hardest part is the waiting. I know you have to think positive, I'm already preparing for a 2nd denial. The way I think of it, now they've made me even more determined that before. I will have this WLS, and i will appeal until they can't stand me anymore.
