Question:
Capsules or Tablets, How soon?
Which is better Capsules or Tablets? Also, I recieved a sample pack from vita4life would it be too soon to start taking just one a day? (lap RNY 8-15-01) I want to get used to taking vitamins but I don't want to overdose on anything. Thanks in advance for all the answers and support! — Staci P. (posted on July 12, 2001)

I was advised to start taking my vitamins (chewable or other)about a month
before surgery to help my body store up some of the vitamins and nutrients
I will be losing the first month or two. If you are not sure, call and
talk to your doctor or nutritionist.

Staci, check with your doctors office. Some vits like Vitamin E could
interfere with the surgery (E interferes with anesthesia, aspirin causes
blood to thin etc.). I also took chewables a month prior to surgery but
was told to stop the week before.

Either tabs or caps should dissolve in saliva in the pouch, actually. If
it was me, I'd just get an ordinary multi vite that is equal to Centrum and
some Vit C and take 2 of each per day up til surgery. Save the V4L until 7
or 10 days post-op! Because it is balanced for people without a stomach,
it has most everything you need except enough calcium citrate.
