Question:
Help!! I am 10 weeks out and have nausea all day now....Flu last week

Last week I think I came down with the flu....had a temp of 102, body aches, diarrhea, nausea....that lasted for about 2 days. Then the fever broke but since then I have had nausea all day and a runny bottom.. I am getting in plenty of water and trying to eat as much as I can but as soon as I take a bite I get it really bad. I had the DS surgery and am very happy with it....able to eat very nice portions and have a good loss so far. I am just worried about this nausea. Could it of been a really nasty bug that I caught last week? Was wondering if anyone else out there had an experience where they were sick and it lingered....    — bobbie B. Bobbie-I went through terrible nausea for about two weeks. I had a temp, too. I don't think it was the flu though-antibiotics took care of my temp finally. Then slowly the nausea started to get better. I feel your "pain" though-the unrelenting nausea is almost unbearable! Hang in there, it does get better.

I cant answer your question but I can maybe help you with the nausea. Of course there is the old remedy of drinking the water that you have boiled rice in. Also my sons pediatrician has a pharmacist that made fenigrin (the nausea medicine i think thats how you spell it) into a topical creme. I just put it behind his ear and it helped alot. So if it keeps up see if you can find a pharmacist that can do that for you. Feel better.

Sometimes our systems can get whacked-out and need a little kick to get them back under control. I would try some Imodium AD for the diarrhea. The caplets are extremely small. When I was early post op, I would get diarrhea occasionally. I would take a couple doses of the Imodium and it would go away. That stuff is great. Won't help with the nausea, but may help take care of the other end!!

dear bobbie ' i can totally relate to what you are going through i have had somekind of bug or something for about 3 weeks now i also have really bad nausia and dirrea also i throw up along with it i just called my surgeon to tell him i think this is going on to long i even had to go to the hospital last week it was so bad they ran a whole lot of test there on my stomach since i am only 7 weeks post op and said there was nothing wrong with my stomach that i just had somekind of intestinal virus and there was nothing that i could do except wait until it passed through my system and they gave me nautious medcine which really does not work that great. and they also had to dhydrate me with 3 bags of iv fluid because i dehydrated from not drinking because i was so weak and tired and sick to my stomach.well that was last wensday.i am still having all the symptons.it feels like i have somekind of virus that just won't go away.i just called my surgon again i think he better check me out again i am getting sick of living this way everyday.hopefully it is just a bacterral afecction they can clear up with antibotics.well good luck to you.
