Question:
Has anyone gone to Mexico for an LAP RNY? Mexico/LAP RNY/Dr. Rumbaut

I am a self pay, and have complete confidence in Dr. Rumbaut in Mexico - but have questions about the trip, the stay, complications, etc. Anyone have any suggestions?    — [Anonymous] (posted on July 10, 2001)

Hi, I had a lady e-mail me when I was waiting for my insurance approval, that suggested that if I wasn't approved to go to Mexico. She said everything went well, and the hospital was great. The only thing she had a problem with, was the language barrier. She said her Dr. spoke English , but noone else did. I'm not sure when your surgery is, but possibly picking up a Spanish course might help, unless your already fluent. Best wishes!

Maureen Mosti was scheduled to have her surgery in Mexico on 07/03/01 but I don't know for sure if she did. I came across her name on the surgery date page once but never had reason to contact her. I believe she lives there but you could contact her anyway, she may be able to give you some good advice. All the best in your journey.
