No there isn't. The chance of developing adhesions after wls is the same as any other major surgery.

I beg to differ with Anonymous. I have a long history with adhesions, and after my 4th abdominal surgery the surgeon placed a surgical mesh inside to decrease adhesion growth. Not everyone develops adhesions (scar tissue that sticks to other tissues/organs) and many adhesions will soften after awhile which reduces pain. Those who know they have problems with adhesions (from previous surgeries) should mention this at the surgeon consult. Hope this helps!

I was told by my surgeon to keep walking and moving. I guess the chance of forming adhesions is greater if you are inactive after surgery.
