Question:
Anybody know of a short term Life and/or disability Ins./ policy to protect family?

Don't get me wrong, I trust my surgeon. I trust that she will do the best job possible for me. But, accidents happen. I would like to know if anybody has taken out a policy for 2-4 months to cover you while you are in surgery and recovering in case you should pass away? Does anybody know of a disability policy that will let you take it out a month before surgery and get disability? I know I should have thought of these things sooner but I didn't so now I am scrambling.    — [Anonymous] (posted on April 4, 2001)

I don't think any disability insurance would let you take it out just to get disability. They are in the business to make money. As far as Life Insuarance try the yellow pages.

I have Short Term Disability through my job, which pays me 60% of my pay while I am recovering. I had to wait 6 months on the job to be eligible to take it.
