Question:
Do you need a tip on making exercise easier?
This came off of "Real Age" tips: "Ever wish that working out wasn't such hard work? Turning on some tunes may make it easier than you think. According to recent research, music may be the perfect passive distraction when you're exercising. In a study, people who exercised while listening to music perceived their workout to be easier than did the people who performed the same exercise with no music." Now this may sound simplistic, but I always crank up the volume of my favorite peppy CDs while working out on my treadmill each day. The time flies by and I feel good while I'm getting in my daily jog. — Cindy H. (posted on March 15, 2001)

I totally agree with you. When I walked an hour a day three years ago, I
listened to my CD player while walking through my neighborhood. I found the
faster the music, the faster my pace. So, I varied the music so that I
would get a well-rounded workout.

I also use music when walking and biking (stationary). It seems to make
the time go by faster and I have often walked longer than expected. I also
find doing exercises to music seems a lot easier. Richard Simmons has
really good tapes for those of us out of shape. He does warm-ups and you
can see people that look like us doing the exercises.
