Question:
I just found a BALD spot. What should I do to stop this?
My sister was combing my hair last night and found a bald spot the size of a quarter. Please tell me this is not the beginning. I am 6 1/2 months post op RNY, and have lost about 70 pounds or so. I must admit I probably do not eat enough food and I really have a hard time getting in my liquids, but I never imagined that this would happen. I had my blood work check last week and besides being a little anemic, which I was prior to surgery, everything was fine. I get my b-12 injections every month, but sometimes forget to take my multi-vitamins. I have been having some hair lost for about 1 1/2 months and was really unconcerned because I knew to expect it, but never imagined I would see a bald spot, until last night. Please Advise. — Dana S. Take responsibility for your health. Don't skip your vitamin suppliments,
do get enough protein, do get enough water. Add 50 mg of zinc and 25,000
IUs of beta-carotene to your daily suppliments. My med team had me add
zinc and betz-carotene to my suppliments when I had a problem with hair
loss and it really helped. Within two weeks my hair loss stopped and has
since grown back. You must be diligent though. No more skipping the
protein, water and suppliments!!! Good luck!

BTW...strangly enoungh, I have had no problems with my hair falling out
post op... I am 7 months out and down 102 lbs

I am 49 yrs old now, butwhen I was 22 I also found a bald spot the same size
as yours.I was hysterical as my hair has always been waist length. I went
to a dermotologist, all he said was it was nerves and stress. It all grew out
ok but you are post-op and the AMOS family will know better than me. I just
wanted to let you know it will grow back. Take care. SUZANNE WILLIAMS
