Question:
How to drink 64 oz of water postop ??
I was instructed to drink 64 oz of water starting 2 weeks following my RNY surgery. I'm having a difficult time getting it in. The first day I drank more than 30oz, I felt bloated and was so i alot of pain. I couldn't sleep, eat, or do anything to get comfortable. This lasted for about 10 hours. It was awful! Any suggestions? — Jody E. (posted on November 21, 1999)

I agree with Barb about getting a large jug or something that can last all
day long. I've had problems getting all of the water in me too. That is
until I read my directions again, it said I need 64oz of fluid. Fluid
meaning that I can count broth too. That helped alot. Oh and I was told to
stop drinking liquids 30mins. prior to eating and 30mins. after. This will
help with the bloating and since you won't be bloated you will be able to
feel like eating something.

i think someone missed up. you should start with clear liquids right away.
not just water just total intake of 64oz or you will dehydrate. Water,
broth, sugar free
kool-aid, 1000% apple grape watered down 50/50 with water.
some others decaf coffee & tea, sugar free jello. well good luck any
