Question:
Help! I am only 3 weeks post-op (vbg) and I am starving!
I am suppose to be on clear liquids for 2 months, (not even jello is allowed!) and I am having a hard time. I chew food and spit it out just to chew. Has anyone out there had to stay on liquids for that long? How did you make it through? Why do I have to wait so long to eat? — Renee H. (posted on November 3, 1999)

Why no Jello? It IS considered a "clear liquid" I've had several
surgeries and jello has tasted wonderful to me afterward when it's only
water, broth and Jello! It seems to provide some substance that other things
don't. I'd double check with my doctor on this!

I can't believe you can't have jello,I was on liquids for three week, soft
foods for the next 3week, then any thing I wanted, which was not alot.I
tried the first 3wks.jello,puddings,yoqurt,lots of soups, cream soups just
made sure I took out chicken, etc.I even chewed on gum.Slim fast seem to
stop my cravings also, sometimes it took me all day to finish a can.also
cream of wheat, mashed potatoes from any chicken rest.with gravy. Good
luck.I would also call your doctor and tell him how you feel....
